From the first message to the final walkthrough
A Korvex job runs in six steps, from your first message to the final walkthrough. Each one shows what you do, what we need and the usual timing. Your written estimate gives your own dates.

What happens, what you do, what we need

First message
Call, text or WhatsApp 613-880-7679, or send the estimate form with a few photos. We reply to book a time to see the site.
You
- Tell us what you want done and where the property is.
We need
- A few photos of the area, close up and from a few steps back.
- Roughly when you would like the work done.
- Step 02
Site visit
The estimate is free and done on site. We walk the property with you, check what sits under or behind the finish, and talk through what the job should include. This is also when we check which permits and City rules apply to your property.
You
- Walk the site with us and show us what bothers you: where water sits, what moves, what you want changed.
We need
- Access to the yard or the room, including gates and side yards.
- A survey plan if you have one, for work along a property line.
- Anything you know is buried: a gas line to a barbecue, power to a shed, a septic system.
- Step 03Written estimateUsually within a couple of days
Written estimate
You get the scope and the price in writing, line by line, with a start date.
You
- Read it, ask about anything that is unclear, and decide.
We need
- Your choices on materials and options, so the price matches what gets built.
- Step 04StartUsually within about a week
Before the start
Work usually starts within about a week of your go-ahead, season permitting. Before anything is dug, buried utility lines are located through Ontario One Call, and any permit the job needs is sorted out.
You
- Clear what you can from the work area: furniture, planters, anything stored along the line of the work.
We need
- Final decisions on materials and colours before the start date.
- Step 05On siteMost jobs: one to two weeks
The build
Most jobs take one to two weeks on site, depending on size, weather and permits. We keep the site tidy at the end of each day, and you have one contact for the whole job.
You
- Keep children and pets clear of the work area while we are on site.
We need
- Access each working day.
- A quick word if something changes on your side.
- Step 06
Final walkthrough
We walk the finished job with you before we call it done.
You
- Look over the work with us and point out anything you want looked at.
We need
- You, on site, for the walk on the last day.
Weather
What moves with the season
Work that needs dry ground or temperatures above freezing moves with the weather.
- Rain
Digging, compacting a base and setting posts need workable ground. After heavy rain that part of the job waits for the ground to dry.
- Frost
Frozen ground cannot be compacted properly, so base work and interlock run from spring to fall on most sites.
- Cold
Some materials, such as mortar, sealers and stains, need temperatures above freezing to set.
- Winter
Planning, estimates and some work continue through the winter. Interior work is done indoors.
- A day moves
When the weather takes a working day, that part of the job moves to the next workable day, and we tell you the new date.
